Remote Work: Are Work-Life Balance and Careers at Risk?
Original title: Télétravail : équilibre et carrières en danger ?
Published in Harvard Business Review France, this article explores the paradoxes of remote work. While working remotely can provide greater flexibility, autonomy, and a better work-life balance, it may also create less visible costs for employees, particularly when it comes to professional relationships, visibility, and career development. It highlights the importance of thinking beyond where employees work to consider how remote work is organized and managed.
Remote Work and Autonomy: Not an Excuse to Stop Managing!
Original title: L’autonomie en télétravail, c’est bien, mais ce n’est pas une excuse pour arrêter de manager !
Published in Monde des Grandes Écoles et Universités, this article explores a central paradox of remote work: greater employee autonomy does not make managers less important. Instead, managers need to rethink their role, balancing autonomy with support, maintaining communication and trust, strengthening team cohesion, and ensuring that remote employees’ contributions remain visible and recognized.
